Good afternoon Pirate Nation! Please mark your calendars: Pleasant Hope Schools WILL BE IN SESSION on Monday, February 21st and Monday, March 28th, 2022 to make-up for our Wellness Break days. We hope that staff and families can enjoy their pre-made plans based on the originally scheduled "Spring Break" weekend, so we have decided NOT to make-up school on Monday, March 14th. High school archery team competed at Carl Junction tonight in both bullseye and 3D targets.
Pleasant Hope falls to Marionville tonight 72-34
Today our high school FCCLA members competed in the regional STAR events competition at MSU. Both teams (Emily Agee, Rylee Craver, Kylie Tucker, Ilandria Shuler) won GOLD and will be advancing to the State competition at Lake of the Ozarks in March. We are so proud of them!
The Ash Grove Junior High Boys Basketball Game that was canceled on January 20th will be made up on Friday, February 11th at Ash Grove at 5:30pm
The Marionville Junior High Boys Basketball Game that was canceled Thursday, January 26th will be made up at home on Wednesday, Feb. 2nd at 5:30pm at Pleasant Hope Middle School
The Junior high boys basketball game vs. Marionville tomorrow night Thursday, 1/27/2022 has been postponed due to sickness within officials association etc. We will do all we can to continue to reschedule games as we can as we work with them to coordinate dates. We are all in this together.

Tomorrow, January 25th, 2022 Pleasant Hope Schools will return to learning. We would like to strongly encourage staff and students to follow Polk County Health Department guidance to prevent the spread of illness as we welcome everyone back, and strive to stay well!
Polk County Health Department Guidance:
If you test POSITIVE for COVID-19 (regardless of vaccination status) you should stay home for 5 days; if you have no symptoms or your symptoms are resolving AFTER 5 days, you can leave your house and you should continue to wear a mask when around others for 5 additional days; if symptoms are not resolving or still having fever AFTER 5 days, you should continue to stay home until symptoms are resolving and fever free for at least 24 hours.
If you were EXPOSED to someone who tested positive for Covid-19 and are fully vaccinated: you should wear a mask when around others for 10 days and test on day 5, if possible; if you develop symptoms get a test and stay home.
If you were EXPOSED to someone who tested positive for Covid-19 and you are NOT fully vaccinated, it is recommended that you should; stay home for 5 days and continue to wear a mask around others for 5 additional days; if you are unable to stay home, you must wear a mask for 10 days; test on day 5, if possible; if you develop symptoms get a test and stay home.

Due to the number of staff and the growing number of students with illness and Covid positive results, Pleasant Hope Schools will be closed Thursday, January 20th and Friday, January 21st for a wellness break. These days will NOT be AMI (Alternative Methods of Instruction Days); these days WILL be made up on Monday, February 21st and Monday March 14th. All extracurricular activities will be canceled during the school closure; activities will be rescheduled when possible. PHR6 will plan to return to in-person learning next Tuesday, January 25th. The PHR6 School District is continuing to monitor the health of our staff and students. Our plan is to CONTINUE in-person learning on Wednesday, January 19th, and keep assessing our daily attendance numbers.
Below are the PHR6 attendance numbers for January 18th, 2022:
K-12 Student Attendance: 84.28%
Staff Attendance: 82.6%
We know that our students learn best in-person, so we will continue to do all that we can to provide a safe education to our students, families, and community! We are also preparing to transition to Alternative Methods of Instruction, Virtual Learning, or even a school closure due to wellness (if illness causes a significant impact to student attendance and staffing).
