2022 Pirates Football Camp
Pleasant Hope High School and Athletic Programs gain strong leaders for the 2022-2023 school year. Dr. Dave Baker will serve as the High School Principal for the Pleasant Hope School District for the 2022-2023 school year. He will be starting his 15th year in education, with his first 9 years as a social studies teacher, football coach, wrestling coach, and track and field coach in Omaha, NE, and the last 5 years as principal at Sparta Middle School. Dave earned his Doctorate in Education from Lindenwood University in December of 2021. He loves sports, but has a passion for football, especially his Nebraska Cornhuskers and Cincinnati Bengals. He enjoys running and recently completed his first half marathon. Baker is excited to join Pirate Nation as the High School Principal. Dave and his wife, Taylor, have a two year old daughter, Clarke. “She is everything to us, and keeps us on our toes daily.” Eric DeRossett will serve as the Athletic Director for the Pleasant Hope School District for the 2022-2023 school year. He is currently entering his 5th year in the Pleasant Hope School District, and 20th overall. He has taught Kindergarten through 12th grade physical education for the bulk of his career, but also K-12th special education. He has served as a head varsity coach in the following sports: boys cross country, girls cross country, boys basketball, girls basketball, girls softball, and boys baseball. Additionally, he has previously served as an Athletic Director for four years. DeRossett and his family live in Bolivar. His son, Nathan, is a teacher and coach in the Bolivar School system. His daughter, Aleena, is employed by Citizens Memorial Hospital as a Social Worker and works in the Central Care Cancer Center. He has one grandson, Ian Wayne, who is named after the late Wayne DeRossett, who was a long-time teacher in the Pleasant Hope School District.

CARE MOBILE UPDATE: Cox Care Mobile will be parked at the athletic facility between the Middle School and Elementary School on WEDNESDAY JULY 27th now instead of the originally planned date of July 29th. The event will still be from 9am-2pm, no appointment required, but please reach out to Nurse Ashlee if you plan to be there in the afternoon so they do not close early due to lack of interest. The Care Mobile can do back to school immunizations and sports physicals. If you are unsure if you are due for a sports physical, contact Nurse Ashlee and she can get that information for you. Missouri Department of Health launches interactive map to get free food to kids this summer The Missouri Department of Health and Human Services launches an interactive map to get food to children in need. The Summer Food Program provides breakfast, lunch, or snacks to children in eligible areas who don’t have access to free or reduced lunch at school. Meals will be provided to children up to 18 years old, and to those between 18 and 21 who are mentally or physically disabled. Meals will be served at various locations in the state. Meals are available across mid-Missouri, including Jefferson City, Columbia, Fulton, Eldon, and more.
