March is Music in our Schools Month! To celebrate, YOUR High School Pirate POWER Band is excited to announce, for the first time in over five years, we have brought home an “Outstanding rating” at the MSHSAA State Large Ensemble Contest! An outstanding rating is the second highest rating a concert band can earn. This means that they have shown mastery skills in individual performance, ensemble performance, and have worked together through these myriad of snow days to continue progressing towards a common goal. In the Sight Reading room, we also earned an Outstanding - 2 rating! This means that students have a strong foundational understanding of music literacy and are able to apply these skills in a real world experience. Congratulations on a job well done!
