PHMS Spirit Week- Today is HAT DAY!

Algebra 1 students used their knowledge about solving equations to create their own equation clocks! Students generated equations for each hour and chose a theme that was personal to them. Super fun project and really impressive final products!




The Pleasant Hope Varsity Cheerleaders invite you and your family to our Kiddie Camp Showcase!! You will see all the fun cheers and the dance that our PK through 5th graders learned this week at camp.
Campers are encouraged to arrive by 6:00 p.m. as we will start lining them up at 6:15 p.m. Performances will start at 6:30 p.m. Don't forget to wear your camp shirt, pink bow, and bring your pom poms! 😁

The JV Football game scheduled for Monday, 10/9, against Pierce City will not be played.
Today Mr. Wolf's Business Tech classes participated in the MFG day virtual event. We saw presentations from Purina, Terramac, General Mills, Toyota Motor, Nike Air, WEG Transformers, Boeing, Copeland, Hitachi, Ingredion, Continental Cement Company, and Ozark Community College


Ms. Valdez and Ms. Peterman arranged a day of library learning. Seventh and eighth grade students completed a book tasting using brand new books provided by Dollar General. Students also tried snacks from the library cook books along with completing a scavenger hunt.




Middle School Volleyball will compete in the SWC JH Volleyball tournament, Saturday, October 7, in Diamond, MO. They play at 9:00 and 9:45 and would love your support. Go and cheer on your Pirates!

The Lady Pirates played their hearts out yesterday in Volleyball. The high school varsity won their third set against Marionville with a score of 25-21. Junior Varsity played their hardest with scores of 10-25 for both sets and Varsity played four sets with the following scores: 19-25, 16-25,25-21, and 15-25. Go Pirates!





Our PHMS football players gave it their all tonight against Stockton. They lost the game but truly showed toughness and heart. Our cheer team performed at halftime and the stands were full of Pirate fans.

The PHMS readers' spotlight is shining on Andrew Caudle! He earned lots of raffle tickets for his summer and first quarter reading!

Fifth graders practiced their sensory language skills today with a potato chip adjective activity.




6th grade Social Studies classes completed a challenge to create the strongest hunter-gatherer basket from paper strips and glue. The strongest basket held 76 cuties!




Attention kiddie camp parents! Permission slips were passed out to your child tonight for each day of camp. These forms give your child permission to stay after school and attend camp. Please fill out this form each day of camp. Sorry for not getting these to you sooner.

Preschool read the story Ten Apples Up on Top by Theo LeSieg in library. They then practiced walking with an apple on their head, drew themselves, and then painted apples on it. Apple Fun! 🍎


This week we made models using play doh to represent the making of photosynthesis. Students had a check list to follow that include labeling where water, sunlight, and CO2 entered the plant and where oxygen left the plant. They learned that sunlight gets trapped in the plant and reacts with CO2 and H2O to make glucose which feeds the plant.
